This is a leave-in treatment serum that you will not rinse out. Once you apply, you can follow with your regular styling products.
You can use the serums together if you have an oily scalp and want to repair weak or damaged strands. In that case, we suggest applying the clarifying serum to your scalp where you are concerned with oil and then applying BioBrew™ to your strands.
Yes! We recommend using the clarifying serum on a clean, towel-dried scalp before using other styling products.

The Clarifying Serum is formulated to control excess oil, but not all oil on the scalp. At the Rootist, we know the importance of protecting and nourishing our scalp and its microbiome. So, in addition to the oil control ingredients in the formula, it also contains the Rootbiomic Ferment™ to ensure the scalp is nourished, hydrated, and balanced. If you have a tendency toward sensitivity or have a known allergy, please check the label, and if you have any concerns, please patch test.
We recommend using the clarifying serum on a clean, towel-dried scalp. If you want help controlling excess oil on non-wash days, we suggest trying our talc-free Dry Shampoo Powder that absorbs excess oil and sweat like a sponge.
